DNA storage. Instead of storing information to your hard drive today that is stored electronically, it is stored chemically in DNA. DNA storage has the potential to store hundreds of petabytes of data in a single gram of DNA. For comparison, a typical hard drive today can store hundreds of gigabytes or a few terabytes.
Imagine storing a hundred thousand times more data in a smaller size. In the near term, I can see this technology being used as a common archive solution for data that is written once and only accessed periodically. 3D printing for housing seems unachievable but can possibly be a reality for commercial use in the near future! In fact, some companies are already doing it now (ofc it’s for super super-rich people and customized only)
