Haven’t seen it mentioned yet but Vertical Farming. Its been technically doable for a long time but is just now gaining popularity. Basically, farms in warehouses with lots of vertical racks and each housing many levels of plants. Most are soilless and use much less water than your typical farm and can take up much much less land. The drawback is power usage for the water systems and the lighting. It also means you can have large.
Li-fi. I haven’t looked into this recently so I can’t comment on the development of it. But it’s basically Wi-fi using light from LEDs. The LEDs flicker can be used as the base frequency for light transmitted data. The idea is that it can be used where radio frequency transmissions aren’t practical or existing light sources can easily be replaced.
